'No More Business As Usual' - Z5 in Becker's Hospital Review

Z5's CEO Carl Natenstedt.

"For a long time in supply chain and in healthcare, there's been a 'business as usual' mentality."

So says our CEO, Carl Natenstedt, in an interview published this month in Becker's Hospital Review

(Speaking of Becker's, the date of the webinar where Steward Health Care is explaining how we helped their hospitals save $16 Million just changed. We're now going live on Wednesday, February 17 at 11 AM. Details and sign-up here.)

In the interview, Carl talked about the challenges that supply chain leaders have faced in the last year and how a company like Z5 Inventory has had to adapt so that we can do what we're designed to do: lower those supply chain leaders' stress levels and increase their savings.

A few takeaways:

  • PPE prices have come down from their height at the start of the pandemic, but not to pre-pandemic levels.
  • PPE consumption is still much higher than pre-pandemic.
  • As a result, supply chain costs are higher without the benefit of being able to use most of the supplies on the shelf while elective procedures are down.
  • So there's increased pressure on supply chain pros to find savings opportunities wherever they can.

Becker's also paid some attention to our charitable efforts last year, which was just the icing on the cake. Check out the write-up in the January 2021 edition of Becker's Hospital Review - available for free online here
