Optimization Project Technician (Full Time)

Location: Atlanta, GA 

 

Job Summary:

 The Optimization Project Technician (PT) is a key member of the Z5 Inventory Optimization Services Team. The PT is responsible for executing and supporting projects that optimize healthcare inventory management across both acute and non-acute care settings. This role focuses on implementing right-sizing strategies, improving operational efficiencies, and driving cost savings for healthcare providers. Technicians in this position are customer-facing, detail-oriented professionals who thrive in dynamic environments. They are expected to travel frequently (up to 80% of the year) to client sites nationwide, ensuring successful on-site implementation and superior customer service from project initiation through completion.

Description

Daily and Project-Based Duties:

  • Execute implementation project tasks independently and accurately.
  • Build and right-size inventory shelving systems; label bins and shelves with RFID tags.
  • Perform physical inventory counts and reconcile against purchase orders.
  • Track, locate, and manage missing, expiring, and recalled products.
  • Conduct SKU rationalization, PAR level reviews, and inventory consolidation.
  • Provide on-site customer support, product information, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain asset location data and ensure system accuracy.
  • Present project updates to Z5 Inventory and client teams.
  • Ensure alignment of internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and customer satisfaction for assigned projects.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Inventory management, logistics, or healthcare preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently or on a team.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the year (projects may vary in length from 1 week to 12+ months).
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Must provide and maintain required immunizations, including:

Hepatitis B, Influenza (current year), MMR, Varicella, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis, TB/PPD (annual), and COVID-19.

 

Willingness to travel:

  • 75% (Preferred)

Salary

$40,000 - $45,000 per year
